Ward Cunningham's distributed wiki vision
Anyone who is interested in the kind of distributed Wikipedia concept ("Omnipedia") that is being proposed here and here could do worse than checking out a talk that Ward Cunningham (the inventor of the wiki) gave in 2005 at the first Wikimania (video and slides).
Within the last third of this presentation, a kind of distributed wiki concept is described - in a rather vague and visionary style), but his ideas are certainly inspiring. One has to watch the video though, the slides alone are too cryptic.
